moscow label grow continues in fine creative form, seemingly not sticking to a motive or trend but rather concentrating on the strength of character within the music it releases. for the labels eighth release the artist is berlin based the marx trukker, who over the last 10 years has been developing his very distinct sound and recent output on labels like pluie/noir, the untold stories, and most recently noorden, have all been especially impressive. now on grow comes the 4 track vinyl * heavens crackling*, from the title one is expecting something awesome, and the album does not disappoint, right from the off, the first track: * a time well spent*, begins with celestial tones ringing out and the performance develops with great synth work, enlightened and very enlivening, spring is in step and something is beginning. the record continues at such a level throughout, overflowing with rich tones, warmth, and raw sounding percussion. in the second track, * all the boating still a tide to go*, deep warm bass and strings reverberate, as if amidst a hot harbours summer, then the ethereal synths return as magical breezes of cooling wind on a june day. on the bside comes the title track * heavens crackling*, the tone has cooled, there is an autumnal vibe, extended tones of an eerie but reassuring nature provide the ground, from under which a molten bass flows playfully. the final track, * i do anything but its so cold*, as the title would suggest, again time has passed, gone are the warm relaxed echoes of the the opening tracks, winter has come, and a strong percussive energy becomes the driving force of an especially deep and more introverted last track. in heavens crackling there is an uncanny understanding of time passing and representation of being, its present in the patience and performance within every track, and the effect of the album, which seems, like the seasons, to naturally come full circle, is for the listener indeed to experience a time well spent. top marks for the marx trukker!

tapan are from belgrade, hosts to disco not disco and now delivering two slow psychedelic techno bomb s to crimes of the future s letterbox. we first met nebjosa and the crew when we played at drug store in belgrade for them in early 2014. upon receiving these we knew they had crimes written all over them. on volumes we have two very special remixes of an already heavy original starting with willie burns taking them into the streets of manchester in the early 90 s and spending a night on at the hacienda with no thought of the gentrification approaching. drvcvltvre is the second provider and in true style switches out the lights and a spectre looms over the dancefloor dripping acid on the dancers below. the ep closes with whos there? featuring the brain melting guitars of vladimir djordjevic. quite a debut we think.

dead fader returns with new ep sun copter, which precedes a forthcoming full length album. *sun copter* introduces a new sound as dead fader s pallet gains new range and depths, using analogue technologies in conjunction with the digital techniques he is well known for. dead fader is the alter ego of john cohen, former brighton resident, now in berlin, who has worked relentlessly since 2007 to realise his vision of electronic music. his tracks are characterised by pioneering sound explorations, which on one hand oscillate between sonic extremities and on the other hand carefully craft cinema-scope sound worlds. the vinyl release includes a downloadcode.

mannequin records escavation into the archives of the italian minimal synth of the early 80s continues. this time we are deeply honored to present the 1982-1983 demos tapes of turins monuments, who released in 1984 their only official mini-lp age, comprising six incredibly fantastic electro-pop tracks, which was already reissued by mannequin back in 2013.

each whiskey disco aims to shed light on forgotten gems of yesteryear. wd42 welcomes two men who need no introduction, kon & jacques renault. both known the world over for their sleek and well-oiled productions and their contributions to the wd catalog are no exception. jacques leads the a-side with disco bass, clattering percussion and sublime vocal crescendo making way for love dance s understated edit of this noodling version of the bill withers classic. kon wraps the b-side with a long and drawn, slightly dubbed and ever-building edit of the album version of promised land.

after making a great impression with its first ep, giant records serves up a second hot helping of house music from boss man grant dell, complete with fresh remixes by scottish techno stalwarts silicone soul. dell, also known as chicago transit authority, has been doing his do for 25 years now. as a dj he is at home in clubs in ibiza and barcelona as well as around the rest of europe, and is someone who always prefers to push his own brand of widely infused and influenced music than his own profile. once again here he comes up trumps with the emotive, glowing house cut ‘in your mind’. with a neat bassline and mid tempo house drums, subtle but effective synth smears add warmth and colour to the groove, whilst soul fuelled vocals add a real sense of personality. this is sure to get people grooving at any hour and comes with grant’s own space echo remix. as the title suggests it’s a more dubby and reverb rich affair with cosmic signifiers and sci-fi vibes pervading from start to finish. silicone soul need little introduction having been at the heart of real deep house and techno for decades on the soma label. their first remix is a darkroom dub - named after their own label - and is a seductively slo-mo and lazily unfolding house cut with languid synths that really suck you in. their lush hypnohouse mix is then a twinkling, late night bit of melodically rich deep house with starry skies twinkling above sombre chords. this is a patiently served but hugely alluring ep that is stuffed with plenty of tender feeling. one again then, both grant and giant have come up with the goods.

dyad is a collaborative music project and label by ben gibson and fundamental interaction. for their third release they deliver two pieces of mesmerizing warehouse techno in *zou* and *fully automated*. to round things off they have assigned irish techno master lee holman, who weighs-in with a devastating remix of *fully automated*.

kike pravda is an artist and producer who has come to release on labels such as warm up recordings, m_rec, psychoskunk, labrynth and many more which have given very good results by the best djs. all this leads him to create his own label in 2012 to continue contributing to the techno scene, his own sound, senoid recordings. senoid enters into the most modern techno without forgetting where the techno came from, betting on vinyl and digital format with the best producers of nowadays.

stix records is a sub-division of favorite recordings, recently launched with a first official single by taggy matcher birdy & nixon (stix033), who pleased us with two reggae-rocksteady renditions of the famous black keys. precisely specialized in the exercise of producing covers with a reggae twist, the new label presents his first album entitled *disco reggae*. many artists faithful to the stable of favorite recordings and its various sub-labels are invited for the occasion: the dynamics, blundetto, grandmagneto, 7 samurai, john milk or taggy matcher. all came and brought their respective touch to this first compilation, with among other things some of the rarest titles from their big single records’ years, but also 4 new and exclusive productions. each of them delivers a great disco-reggae version of classic hits by some artists as diverse as madonna, herbie hancock, justin timberlake, the commodores, the o jays, curtis mayfield, harry nilsson or sugarhill gang. whatever the genre or the period, nothing can resist their inventiveness and creativity, to the point sometimes we confuse between originals and covers. everything is remastered and cut at carvery records (uk), known for their expertise in caribbean and disco music. the vinyl lp comes in a deluxe version, housed in an old-school tip-on jacket.

on this new record hailing from aarhus, central delivers a more or less floor friendly collection of works. with his curious and unorthodox approach to dance music, this ep offers 4 very different pieces of music. the opening track fresh context a vivid yet robust house jam is followed by the spontaneous and unpolished gentle vertigo. b side starts off with fell, a moody and eerie spin in experimento land. the final track kessem is a melodic and punchy cut. central delivered releases on nord records and yield earlier this year, revealing respectively a darker techno game and a loose house vibe. to those who arent familiar with help recordings, central s widespread sound offers a premium introduction to the labels output. playful yet serious.

the recognition is a new alias from johan antoni who works in stockholm’s finest synth shop jam syntotek. all the tracks are produced in his home...dope stuff!

dutch powerhouse creme organization started a brand new label entitled jericho one. the man behind the first ep is berlin based brit bnjmn, who has released on label like delsin and rush hour and has a strangely melodic, lo-fi sound. opener skur is a hurried techno jam with frosty textures and bleak industrial vibes. it sets the vibe for the total feeling of the ep which is way more floor facing compared to bnjmn s earlier productions. this is a truly out there and wild ep that once again finds bnjmn experimenting on the outer fringes of the techno world in his own unique, distorted way.

finally, leftback s own dudley strangeways rounds off the ep is his usual style, which cannot be described as anything less than true quality. as ever, black key have excelled in delivering a package which ticks all the right boxes, this is a release which will undoubtedly appeal to a diverse range of house music fans who appreciate a rather large nod to the underground. vinyl only.

for 07 ruff draft enlists twins who turns in a dark, dystopian, club sound scape that hits all the right spots. hayworth is another alias of a well known producer to us ruff drafters, here he creates a track with an intro that teases and teases you before the beat drops and things get all sweaty. cottam digs out some acid from the hard drive, an old forgotten about track that finally gets a release.

hedonism is an ethical theory that pleasure, in a sense of satisfaction of desires, is the highest good and proper aim of human life, and this seems to also be hdnsm’s ultimate musical objective. their first release debuted as a kickstarter of “variant ep” v.a. series, showcasing three very different yet highly contemplative creations from cumsecade, anestie gomez and man spider. hdnsm flips the coin and for the second episode of “variant” series it lands on two very solid, incredibly moody and extensive works from fresh talents shcaa and cleymoore. the ep features two very different tracks yet they share the same minimalistic core. both works are blessed with intricate micro-drum arrangements for those feeling groove hungry whilst still standing tall in the experimental abstract realm pleasing those who crave unusual frequencies. a-side’s “masquée” is one of shcaa’s typical rides between sound and silence and it is hard to find another artist who understands sound gaps between grooves better than shcaa does. with his signature vocals and an incredibly delicious duality between acoustic instrumentalism and electronic slamming, this is a groovy, highly deep, very intelligently arranged piece. the flip-side “nebula”, signed by pluie/noir’s boss cleymoore, is a tip of an iceberg when it comes to the art of stripping down. in an apparently thin canvas of minimal drum arrangements there’s a vast amount of sound frequencies underneath a steady ever-kicking groove, tricking your mind into thinking that you’re hearing less than you actually perceive. nebula is hypnotic and dense but focused and sophisticatedly groovy. like the repetitive vocals you’ll hear throughout the b-side, this v.a. sticks to your mind like an addiction of some sort and pushes hdnsm to a new standard of avant-garde and forward-thinking attitude. as before, this vinyl only release comes in a gorgeous cover featuring a painting from max binski and the number of copies available is limited
